Plasma or LCD? The debate rages
Debate..what debate? I did not see any debate in the news article. Actually the news item is more on Panasonic’s “concierge” service. What is this concierge service? According to the news item it is :-
It’s sort of a clearinghouse for consumers who can make educated choices when buying a flat panel HDTV, according to Larry Toscano, Panasonic’s manager of strategic planning,
The service normally applies only to consumers who purchase a Panasonic HD plasma set. But during the holidays, Toscano said, Panasonic is extending the concierge service to any consumer seeking information on HDTV flat panel TVs.
I think this “concierge” idea is a good maketing thing by Panasonic but one thing I noted in the news is that it’s plasma tv that’s being touted. Normally as I know in a debate there are two opposing teams , one speaks for and the other speaks against. So Panasonic is for plasma but who is speaking for LCD? I found none in the news, so you see my point why I said it’s not a debate?
Well Panasonic is for plasma tv is not suprising as Panasonic is a major plasma tv producer and currently for large screen sizes ie above the 46-inch category, plasma tv still rules. Finally not forgetting Panasonic’s tag line for it’s plasma TV…”Thinking Big? Think Plasma”
