What An Experience?
It’s the experience of this blog between the month of May and June. Here is the chronological of events.
May 2006 - Blog down due to a serious hard disk and back up disk failure of webhost. And I can’t do anything even after my account was restored as I was traveling.
Early June 2006 - Managed to restore blog back but with data missing for all the posts for March and April. This is because there was no back-up done. Hence manage to restore every thing up till early March only.
Mid June 2006 - Decided to change my blog name from FlatTV.myinfornet.com to flattvexpress.com. Successfully made the change on the 17th June 2006. Again in my haste, I forgot to do a back up and I used the old back up file. Hence posting up to early March again. Back to square one but looking back, I do learnt a number of things inparticular these are :-
- How to transfer form one servers to a new servers.
- Restoring blog after crash.
- Renaming the blog due to a change in the domain name.
And finally nothing is more important than doing a constant back up.
