Supply glut and falling prices of LCD or plasma TVs are good news for buyers. However on the other hand it meant thin profit margins and this is not good news for the Flat TVs makers. But this does not stop them from investing heavily into new manfacturing plants. If they, the makers do not invest sufficiently, they may get marginalised or even pushed out of the market. It is really a tough game as what one senior analysis described below.

If makers don’t invest now it basically means they are giving up on the game. It’s kind of like poker,” said Mizuho Securities senior analyst Koichi Hariya.
